Why You Should Use Organic Essential Oil of CARROT SEED

Reverse Aging Heal the Skin ~ Bring Emotional Harmony

20x more potent than consuming collagen!

As Essential Oils continue to grow wildly popular, and rightly so, you may be hearing a buzz growing about Organic Essential Oil of Carrot Seed. The myriad of medicinal and therapeutic healing benefits of essential oils has been used and studied since ancient times.  Ginger Ravencroft has devoted her life getting to know these precious gifts from nature and creating unique and highly effective formulas that help with everything from Arthritis to Zits. With 24 years of searching for the purest and most potent organic oils, from distillers with impeccable standards of quality, she has gathered the best of the best for each of her blends. As for Organic Essential Oil of Carrot Seed, Ginger knew it was a "Rock Star" oil almost a decade ago! She fell so in love with the multitude of skin support factors found within this one oil, that she created the simple but blissfully effective Carrot Facial Mist.

In this case, the best were found in both France (who has been using the oil in their anti-aging skin care for many years) and Hungary (makes the BEST cold-pressed virgin organic carrot seed oil); so she sources both versions from these countries and passes on these rare oils to you … You could say this blend is 24 ‘Carrot’ Gold!!
Out of the countless oils she could have chosen, why Carrot Seed? Well, let’s get one thing out of the way; the essential oil of Carrot Seed does not come from those big, sweet stalks that bunny rabbits favor, but rather  the seeds from a wild, flowery carrot (often called Queen Anne’s Lace, and a native herb of Hungary) which produce an oil that absolutely favors our skin.

This organic essential oil is made up of nearly 40% carotenoids, which our epidermis (the outermost layer of our skin) is especially good at absorbing, and are AH-mazing for the skin in so many ways! They stimulate epidermal regeneration, which makes them work magic on skin repair for scarring and stretch marks. This ability is also a must for any type of previous photoaging or reversal of sun damage. Obviously our primary source of carotenoids are through our diet, however, studies have shown that they can originate via topical application as well. “In the skin, they accumulate mostly in the epidermis and act as a protective barrier to various environmental influences. Namely, the skin is exposed to numerous environmental factors, including ultraviolet radiation (UVR), air pollution, and smoking, that cause oxidative stress within the skin with consequent premature (extrinsic) aging. UVR, as the most prominent environmental factor, may cause additional detrimental skin effects, such as sunburn, DNA damage, and skin cancer. Therefore, photoprotection is the first line intervention in the prevention of premature aging and skin cancer. Numerous studies have demonstrated that carotenoids, particularly β-carotene, lycopene, lutein, and astaxanthin, have photoprotective effects, not only through direct light-absorbing properties, but also through their antioxidant effects (scavenging reactive oxygen species), ... and/or suppression of cellular and tissue responses like inflammation.(1)

Lack of sleep, UV light and infrared radiation (heat), alcohol consumption, smoking, air pollution, and illness all cause a decrease in the level of carotenoids in our skin.

The carotenoid properties in Carrot Seed oil work  by decreasing the sensitivity to UVR and its beneficial effects in prevention of damage as well as assisting the result of unnecessary premature skin aging. Many studies have shown that skin with high levels of carotenoids looks considerably younger than skin that has been depleted from them. Topical application of antioxidant (AO) substances such as these is closely related to skin protection from environmental factors and anti-aging. They improve skin elasticity, increase hydration by reducing water loss, smooth and soften skin texture, and reduce wrinkles.

Organic Essential Oil of Carrot Seed is also packed with Vitamin A, which if you’ve ever heard of Retin-A, you know is extremely effective in skin repair. In fact, studies have proven that topical application of Vitamin A improves the wrinkles associated with natural aging and may help to promote the production of skin-building compounds. Quality organic carrot seed oil is a potent and non-pharmaceutical source of Vitamin A! As we age, collagen is another biggie.

Collagen is a protein that serves as one of the main building blocks for our skin; it is what provides the plumpiness and firmness that we may take for granted when we’re young. Carrot Seed oil is plentiful in Vitamin C, which actually promotes collagen production, reducing sagginess and plumping up fine lines. Vitamin C, which also goes by ascorbic acid and L-ascorbic acid, is a vitamin that isn’t actually produced by the body. Instead, the only way to get it is through supplements or your diet - it has vital functions throughout the body. “Vitamin C is an essential nutrient in tissue repair and the enzymatic production of various transmitters,” says Dr. Patricia Wexler, “Vitamin C’s production of collagen has the potential to thicken the dermis, diminish fine lines, and is essential for firm, youthful skin...Topically, it’s 20 times more potent than the oral intake.(2)

On top of that, vitamin C is an antioxidant, meaning it protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure.

A scientific study was published on the benefits of using Carrot Seed Oil to inhibit skin carcinomas (skin cancer), "(Regarding Carrot Seed Oil) The present data reveal that F2 fraction has a remarkable antitumor activity against DMBA/TPA-induced skin carcinogenesis, an effect that may be mediated through inhibition of the MAPK/ERK and PI3K/AKT pathways."

The anti-inflammatory properties in this blend are wonderful for skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, and dermatitis - while it also is a significant source of topical Vitamin E, naturally moisturizing the skin. Carrot Oil helps clear up acne as well. According to Very Well Health, “carrot seed oil has potent antibacterial properties and was able to inhibit the growth of staphylococcal, streptococcal, and listeria bacteria. This effect was mainly attributed to a chemical called alpha-pinene which is able to kill bacteria without damaging underlying skin cells."

Likewise, it also is a go-to choice for reducing the appearance of any facial scarring and dark spots.

Hyperpigmentation is the production of excess melanin, causing dark spots on the skin. Age spots, liver spots, freckles, sun spots, pregnancy mask, are all types of hyperpigmentation. Believe it or not, this condition is the 2nd most significant skin concern for women and men in the US and one that affects over 30 million people worldwide. These can be caused by sun exposure, heredity, acne and hormonal changes. Carrot seed oil is awesome for hyperpigmentation due to its high beta-carotene which helps to remove pigmentation by hindering tyrosinase (an enzyme that produces melanin). Wow.

If all of this doesn’t convince you that Ravenscroft Escentials Carrot Facial Mist is a must-have for your skincare routine, combine all of these preventative and healing benefits with the fact that it’s warm and earthy scent has been shown to be extremely effective in banishing the blues and putting some pep in our step!

It stimulates brain and nerve function in a way that is refreshing while it helps diminish feelings of anxiety, stress, weakness, and fatigue. Others claim that it can stimulate the digestive system, enhance liver and kidney health, and promote detoxification on a cellular level.(3)

A 2017 review published in the International Journal of Molecular Science suggests that the aromatic monocyclic monoterpene p-cymene (found in Carrot Seed Oil), has analgesic-like properties and may help relieve headaches by blocking pain receptors in the nervous system called nociceptors. (4)

A clinical study in 2013 found that this oil improved both metabolism and mood among women participants. This is because of higher arginine levels, which relax blood vessels and enhance circulation. So you can boost your mood while you’re taking amazing care of your skin with all of Carrot Facial Mist's preventative, healing & supportive benefits.
